January, 2009 12/08 - I went to New Orleans to make up for having to leave in a hurry due to Hurricane Gustav during Decadence. I stayed with John Ramsey at La Maison Marigny and had a blast as usual.

It's 2009 and here I am making my annual update to this home on the Web. 2008 was HELL. Not sure I really need to elaborate. There were highlights - we were able to find decent homes for Dixie's puppies, but I haven't gotten very frequent updates on them. Scrappy Doo is still living here - he's very much David's boy. His brother, Scooby Doo, is still having some challenges with being nice to strangers. I haven't heard anything from Daphne's new owners. It's looking like Dixie will be visiting a fella named Josh in the first quarter of 2009 and hopefully presenting Christy with some impressive show prospects. Dixie will likely get to retire from her puppy-rearing career once this litter is weaned. We might even spay her at that point. Work was the greatest cause of Hell this year. A major project that I wasn't much involved with imploded after implementation. I got drafted to help with the stabilization. There were many long hours over about 9 months and I'm not sure what job I'm going back to when my role on the project is done. The house got a new roof, gutters, soffits and fascia. We also got the theatre room completed in the basement, so David's toy room is up and operational. We'll see where 2009 takes us. If it goes as I expect, I'll have more time to keep this thing up-to-date and maybe even experiment with some changes in design. In the meantime, I'll be keeping Christy's websites somewhat up-to-date (www.countryk9resort.com and www.zytut.com).
